Washington Preludio is a collaborative performance and cultural exchange program that brings together string and piano students from leading Suzuki studios throughout the Washington, DC metropolitan area. Through regional and international tours, students share inspiring performances while building friendships, artistic excellence, and global connections.
Our repertoire spans Baroque masterworks to contemporary music, featuring soloists, chamber ensembles, and larger collaborative performances that showcase musicians of all levels.
In each destination, Washington Preludio partners with local teachers, schools, and music organizations to create meaningful musical exchanges. Students rehearse, perform, and learn alongside young musicians from around the world, participating in workshops, collaborative concerts, and works by contemporary composers.
Beyond the stage, cultural experiences—including local festivals, shared meals, outdoor adventures, and community activities—create lasting memories and deepen students' appreciation for music as a universal language. Washington Preludio's tours inspire artistic growth, cultural understanding, and friendships that extend far beyond the concert hall.
